Christmas Sewing & P's First Gift

The boy is asleep (in my arms actually), dinner is prepped, and the last load of laundry is in the dryer so I'm giving myself permission to start on my list of posts.

Real quickly, P's still sick that's why he's in my arms; this kid needs his mommy when he hurts. He's no longer having bouts of not being able to breathe so I'm happy. He just has faucet nose, a loose cough and lots of discomfort from his congestion, a better place to be in my book!

I'm really enjoying this new sewing hobby of mine and love trying new projects. I appreciate my Mom lending me her machine until I can save up for a down payment on the kind I want one day. My list of things to sew grew as my list of people to give to came together.

{First project home made heating pads for neighbor & co-workers. They're super easy but we made between 15-20. It made me laugh when we delivered them the husbands would hand them right over to a smiling wife. We girls are all cold this time of year.}

<{Next girly pjs for this little miss. I forgot to get a good photo before I wrapped them.}

{This is my favorite detail. The legs had a ruffle made of this lighter material.}

{This project I adore! When you've been looking at fabric for hours it all starts to look average so it wasn't until I started sewing this that I fell in love with this beautiful fabric.}
{I created the pattern for this car seat cover because my sister-in-law and I have the same seat and it's smaller than most. This project by far took the most time. I did straps to tie because I've heard the cover stays in place better this way.}

{This is the reverse side, so cute! I didn't put this out there Christmas Day but if you don't like this Megan I'll happily sew you another and keep this for our April Arrival. But if you like it I hope you enjoy it.}

{Finally the reason I kept the sewing machine around in the first place. Christmas Eve PJs!}

{My parents would always let us open one present Christmas Eve and it was pajamas. I think this will become tradition in our family as well.}

{Aaron's one request, that they not be Christmas fabric so we can use them year round.}

{This flannel is wonderfully soft, it's so cozy! P loves to sort and fold laundry so he went right to work after opening these.}

{He was happy with his first gift.}

{Matchy, Matchy. Yeah, we're like that.}

I may do boy and girl pants now that I wont be the only female in the house. I literally sewed, wrapped, and gave these on Christmas Eve. Depending on how many kids we have I may need to do a little Christmas in July in the future so I'm not so rushed!

Next projects I'd like to try: purse, apron, and a dress for our little girl. I'm toying with the idea of sewing her blessing dress. My friend made her twin's blessing outfits out of her wedding gown. Now, I'm not sure I'm that awesome to cut up my dress for her blessing outfit, but I maybe able to come up with something cute.

First post done! P's awake now, but I'm hoping he'll give me a little time to get caught up on my blog post reading so I can leave you some comment love!

I'm sorry if I gave you the impression I didn't like the carseat cover, but I thought I had told you Christmas day that the fabric was lovely and a carseat cover is always a nice thing to have. Thanks.
