Christmas Eve started out with Porter needing entertainment badly. After my shower I only had enough time to snap this one pic of the expansive fort the boys had built.

{Porter was tired at this point and when that happens he goes into destruction mode.}

{Aunt Kal brought Porter a Christmas gift at the family party. I guess this was actually his first Christmas gift this year.}

{He was so excited about his new car ride pillow! He really loved it and kept trying to get it on but struggled with it a bit. Kal also made baby girl a matching burp cloth and bib. I really appreciate all the work she put into these gifts.}

{The family doing what we do best... talk!}

{Porter showing Uncle Couper his best "Go JAZZ!"}
Aaron and I finished Christmas Eve off by preparing Pie for Christmas dinner. I had run out of time and staying up late was the only option left. Aaron ended up being my hero by finding the only gas station open to buy milk for the custard and still have enough for breakfast in the morning.

{The crust was the most stressful part for me. I've been trying to learn this art from my Mom for years now. When a recipe calls for "Some" of something you know it's the kind of recipe you just have to know how to do. She learned from my Grandma Max, so I appreciate her couching me for years on this family skill. I decided to commit to these pies so I would have to try, knowing that if I failed I could always try again. Pleased to report they turned out!}
{2 finished banana cream pies! YAY!}
We went to bed at 2 am only to be woken up a few minutes later by a croupy Porter.
