I told ya I'd see ya after the Holidays... Technically it's still a Holiday but we're up for a family visit with the in-laws (something I think will be more common with the best church schedule ever 9:30a.m.) and I'm hanging out in the car with a sleeping child. Since Aaron and I wrote resolutions on the drive up and I'm stuck I might as well share. If this post isn't polished just remember I'm on my phone. As if they're flawless from my computer.
Let's just start with how excited I am the world didn't end last night. I've always been freaked out by 2012, you know why. With the world not ending and having had thoughts about these being the last days (even if they aren't I think about it) I'm very excited and full of energy to try a little harder. All my enthusiasm may have caused me to twist Aaron's arm, guilt trip him, no let's go with greatly encourage Aaron in the most loving fashion (right dear?!) To create resolutions. Truthfully, he already had a list in his head just wasn't as excited as me to write them down.
I know you probably could careless and I get that. But like most things on the blog it's for us not you. If you enjoy reading our resolutions Rock On!
AARON'S RESOLUTIONS:
*Run the Top of Utah Marathon and set a new personal best time. Also run the St. George Marathon, if I get in, just for fun.
*Read my German Book of Mormon every night.
*Lose 6lbs in the next 6 weeks. Maintain healthy weight.
*Over see and lead weekly Family Home Evenings.
MEGHANN'S RESOLUTIONS:
(My list is long. I count them as my work goals as well since my career is currently my home.)
*Temple & Date night every month with Aaron.
*Buy & Use cloth diapers. Money saved will be put in a new washer and dryer fund. (FYI- with 2 in diapers I'll save $1,200 dollars next year. Also, a friend let me borrow a set of cloth diapers so I'm not going into this blindly. I can handle it and it's the right choose for us right now. There are lots of positives to this choice before you start shooting bullets my way.)
*Create a daily tracking sheet to monitor my eating per the recommendations made by specialist for reactive hypoglycemia.
*Exercise 3 times a week. (Why so little, you ask? Just being realistic.)
*Declutter Our Home. On my handwritten list is says, "see project plan" I won't subject you to such detail. :)
*Purchase & store 1 year of basic food storage for each family member.
*Build & Plant garden boxes. Enjoy.
*Read the Book of Mormon Sunday school lesson each week.
*Plan Meals for a month at a time and only make one grocery shopping trip a month. (We tested this out and it's about an entire days work in planning and shopping, but we love having it done. We're also saving money. )
*Explore affordable organic food options. Avoid high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweetners and genetically alter foods. If possible.
*Daily Budget/expense check on MINT.
*Live better the principals of the gospel to be worthy of the guidance and peace of the Holy Ghost.
PORTER'S RESOLUTIONS:
*Use more words.
*Potty Train by 2013!
*Learn my Numbers, Letters, and colors.
* Be as kind at home as I am with friends.
PRIYA'S RESOLUTIONS:
*Learn to play quietly on my own.
*Uninterrupted playing time for development. (AKA Porter free, Priya safe time)
* Learn new skills.
BONUS ITEMS:
(It doesn't hurt to put it out there but these would just be icing on the cake)
*Disney Land Vacation
*Purchase a New Washer & Dryer
*Oil & Honey for our food storage
Here's to an AMAZING 2011 and an even better 2012!!!
