Today was our first day exploring Vienna. We decided to wait until tomorrow to venture into the downtown part of Vienna where all of the soccer fans are spending their time, so we spent most of our day at Schönbrunn Palace, the home of several generations of Habsburg monarchs. The Habsburgs were the rulers of the Holy Roman Empire for about 400 years and finally the rulers of the Astro-Hungarian Empire until World War I. We had a lot of fun seeing the completely restored and furnished inside (unfortunately no pictures allowed) and the immaculate grounds outside. It was beautiful. We kept wondering how many full-time gardeners it would take to keep up the grounds. Definitely a couple hundred. The highlight of the day was when we were at the Gloriette and got to watch a couple of drunk people fall all over themselves. I have a picture of it in the slideshow. I wanted to post the movie I made, but it's too big.

It's official, I need a full-time Gardner! These places are amazing, I guess now we know the "look" that Thanksgiving Point was going for, eh? ~~MOM~~
