I'm finding that while I enjoy the concept of Mother's Day when the actual day rolls around I'm SO not a fan. It's a broken concept because everyone has a Mother, Mother-in-law, wife, grandmothers, ect. I'm so grateful for these women and love them very much and it's nice to celebrate them. However, call me selfish, but this leaves no time for me. Aaron gets it (Probably from the, "Who's idea was this?" ranting) and does his best to celebrate me on days other than Mothers Day.
We had a hectic and exhausting Mother's day so my one request/tradition had to come a few days late, but I got my photos with the kids. There's a little hectic themselves but Porter didn't want to hold still and that's an accurate depiction of my Motherhood so I like it.

All grumpiness towards the day aside. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to be the Mother of these beautiful children. I lay in bed at night grateful to have survived the day ;) and overwhelmed by the tremendous gratitude I feel to be so lucky to have my family. A family that loves each other and will be together forever! Really, there are no words adequate to explain how happy my role in life right now makes me!

Cute pictures. It IS hard to put into words the feelings and thoughts that come when thinking about being a mother.
I agree! It's hard to celebrate our achievements with our little ones when we're honoring women who have been mother's decades longer than we have. I think they should make it two separate days, so that we get a day just to celebrate our own motherhood. (-: beautiful pictures....
such cute pictures! Priya is already getting chunky it looks like!
