Since it's winter we've been spending all of our time inside. I took the garbage out and came around the corner of our house to see my son in bare feet, no coat, with his onesie undone and untucked walking as fast he could up and down the sidewalk. A quick glance at his Father and Aaron informed me that it was warm enough (it was, almost) and that I should let the boy be a kid. I agreed to let them play for a while, but just couldn't deal with the barefoot thing so I tossed some shoes out the front door hoping they'd find their way onto P's feet; they did. Aaron and Porter walked our neighborhood street several times dreaming of summer together. It's a silly story, but it's so us. It's also a happy memory of my boy walking all over the place.

Kitchen Help
Lately one of my favorite things to do with Porter is bake! I get everything ready, measured and then invite him to join me in the kitchen. He does pretty much everything from that point on, he adds the ingredients, he stirs, he scopes, ect. The top 2 pictures are from the night we made chocolate drops, so FUN!
{Rolling the cookie dough in the powdered sugar. What kid wouldn't love this!}
{I let him try a spoon of dough... not the best idea because now he samples everything. Just like his Mom.}
{Porter got himself in there. He must have been remembering all the good times he received infant baths from his Grandma. He wasn't a lot of help with this nights baking, but he did enjoy Aunt Baylee's brownie cupcakes.}
{All that hard work can sure wear a boy out!}
{He's playing with his hair; which made his Dad and I laugh.}
{This outfit (daddy dressed him) reminds me of a quick story- see below.}

Oh my goodness what a good little helper you have! I can't believe how grown up he looks....he looks so much more like a little boy than a baby!
I happen to love your story at the end, reminds me of my husband and how he is with our boys...."a little cold won't hurt them"! :)
Love the kiddos in the kitchen...it's always fun!

That is so cute and such a cute way to do it! I have let emma bake with me.. once, and I might add it was a crazy experience. I might have to try to do it your way and see how it goes the next time around. Thanks for sharing, P's getting so grown up, and still adorable as ever!
