Future Dwight
Aaron and I are addicted to The Office. Wow, that feels great to have that off my chest! I've been trying to find a clip of one of my favorite office episodes, but can't. The writers of The Office, have removed everything off the internet, because they want to be paid for internet viewing as well. Lame, HUH? Can't say I blame them, but this just means all I could find was this clip from an i phone, but you get the gist.
Makes me giggle!

Laughter
With all of this talk about offers and change, I got a little nostalgic tonight. I decided that I wanted to make it to all the little places here in Logan we've always talked about going to...but never actually do. There is this little Thia restaurant in town that we've always said, "We should try that!" Well tonight Aaron made reservations. I just had water with my meal, and as of late I can't get enough water, and even more so I can't seem to keep it in me.
As we were walking out the door the thought crossed my mind to find a restroom, but I thought I would be fine, we were just going straight home. We headed home and got stuck behind a mini van because of some event going on at the high school. I started yelling at it and Aaron realized I needed to go, so then the tormenting started. He poked me, tickled me, spoke soothingly about rushing waters, and then the brake and gas tricks started. All of this just made me laugh, which didn't help the matter. He kept it up and joined in on the laughing which just made it that much funnier. I started laughing so hard it hurt. Aaron finally crept into our drive, as I bolted for the door. I love it when we have moments like this...despite the great discomfort. I love it when I laugh so hard tomorrow my abs will hurt. And every time they do I'll smile because I'll know why my muscles hurt.

My, My, How Time Will Change a Girl
Earlier this week my adorable visiting teacher cornered me and then proceeded to use the commitment pattern on me. She wanted to get me to the enrichment getting to know you activity. What could I say...I was cornered, so I attended said event this evening. I found myself frightened and socially awkward as I tried to fill in my getting to know you BINGO card. Talking with women I have never met isn't easy for me, but they all seemed so excited to talk with me. I got better at it and then the more I got talking, I realized I was sincerely enthused to learn a little tidbit about them. Here comes the change.Up until a little while ago I had absolutely no desire to be in relief society. As far as I could tell there were just a bunch of women in there who had this LDS Wonder Woman role figured out. I'm also ashamed to admit, that I thought I knew enough to get me through my life, and I had no need to get to know these women. As I start to switch gears in life from some what responsible, to taking on some big responsibilities I have felt a strong pull to the Relief Society Women. I need their help, their love, their wisdom, and their never failing encouragement. I have never liked asking for help, and really I don't like to ask for anything. However, in the most recent part of my life there have been lots of things that have caused me to reach out and say, "Help! I don't know what I'm doing! I need you to share with me, so that I can make it through!" Tonight as I listened to the ladies introduce themselves I kept thinking, "oh I wish I had that quality!" "I need to talk with her she is so happy, and has been married for 60 years!" "How does she do that?! If she can endured that trial, I can make it through my small bumps". Every time I find myself in a conversation with these women they help me feel, and believe that I am enough! Enough for God, my husband, my students, and especially enough for myself. Even when I feel so inadequate.
Now this growth may seem insignificant to you, but I am amazed at the enormously positive influence asking for help has had on my life. I'm sorta' proud of myself. So really this post is just one great big pat on the back to myself! Way to go Meg!!!

Snow Can Be Fun!
However, today I rediscovered that snow really can be fun. Meg came outside to help me shovel our "area" (I wish I could say driveway) in front of our apartment and... yada yada yada... we ended up getting into a huge snow fight! It was so much fun. It's been a really long time since I've actually played in the snow. It was way fun to just forget about everything else for a couple of minutes and just have fun with each other. I love you Meg! Thanks for helping me be immature for awhile. :)

Shakespeare Says It Best
So, I find myself is a dither. And in such a state I tend to get strong emotions and Shakespeare came to mind. He really did know how to word things just right so here are a few quotes that I like:
In Life:
Sigh no more, ladies, sigh nor more;
Men were deceivers ever;
One foot in sea and one on shore,
To one thing constant never;
Then sigh not so,
But let them go,
And be you blithe and bonny;
Converting all your sounds of woe
into hey nonny, noony.
Sing no more ditties, sing no mo,
Or dumps so dull and heavy;
The fraud of men was ever so,
Since summer first was leavy.
Then sigh not so,
But let them go,
And be you blithe and bonny,
Converting all your sounds of woe
Into hey, nonny, nonny.
In Life:
- "This above all to thine own self be true." Hamlet
- "Wisely and slow; they stumble that run fast." Romeo and Juliet
- "Out, damned spot! out, I say!" Macbeth
- "Have patience and endure" Much Ado About Nothing (love the title)
- "Good Night, Good Night! Parting is such sweet sorrow, that I shall say good night till it be morrow." Romeo and Juliet
- "The course of true love never did run smooth" Twelfth Night...I think
- "When you depart from me sorrow abides, and happiness takes his leave" Much Ado About Nothing
Sigh no more, ladies, sigh nor more;
Men were deceivers ever;
One foot in sea and one on shore,
To one thing constant never;
Then sigh not so,
But let them go,
And be you blithe and bonny;
Converting all your sounds of woe
into hey nonny, noony.
Sing no more ditties, sing no mo,
Or dumps so dull and heavy;
The fraud of men was ever so,
Since summer first was leavy.
Then sigh not so,
But let them go,
And be you blithe and bonny,
Converting all your sounds of woe
Into hey, nonny, nonny.
My mother made my brother and I explain that sonnet before we could watch the rest of the movie, when we were like 10. I love my Mother!

Our Prophet
Aaron and I just heard about the loss of our dear prophet President Gordon B. Hinckley. We are both in shock that he actually went home to Marjorie. What a happy day for them. It's so weird to imagine continuing to watch conference without this Great Man. We both feel that Gordon B. Hinckley is our Prophet, and that we have grown up listening to his words and have grown to love him so dearly. We've heard our parents talk about President Spencer W. Kimball being they're prophet, but now we get it. President Hinckley is the Prophet of our generation. How lucky we are to have attended meetings with this man, and to have heard words of Truth spoken by him, to have learned and changed our lives because of his council, and to have felt the Spirit touch our hearts as he would share his Testimony of Christ the Savior. We will miss him so much!
My Luxurious Haven
I am the kind of dreamer who likes to sleep under a lot of heavy blankets, and my cute husband really doesn't like that since his temperature is consistently 10 degrees warmer than mine. While Aaron was in Germany he fell in love with their bedding, particularly the Federdecke: a large down and feather filled quilt that you put a simple cover over and that's what you sleep under. Compare that to my bedding culture of sheets, a light blanket, a quilt, and
on most nights I would spread my Wooby (that's another post in and of itself) over just me. Aaron tried and tried to find a way to purchase me a Federdecke, because he was sure it would accommodate both of our bed time needs more efficiently. Then I started exploring the Great Swedish Novelty that is IKEA and found some interesting bedding options, and asked Aaron to take a look. I think he started jumping up and down when he realized they sell and authentic Federdecke and just call it a four seasons quilt. Now I will never go back! Each night I sleep under four inches of down and feathers! In fact I am writing this post from my luxurious heaven right now, and feel a sudden urge to close my eyes and spend a little time napping in the folds of my covers. Good Night, Sleep Well, Dream Better!
